The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist assumes responsibility and accountability for the accuracy and improvement initiatives related to clinical documentation at KMC. The CDI Specialist monitors and analyzes documentation furnished by clinical staff, and corrects any errors via a query-based system. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Collaborates with supervisory staff to convey written and/or verbal queries to clinical staff when documentation inaccuracies arise due to illegibility, missing/conflicting information, etc. Submits concurrent (eg during patient's care) or retrospective (eg after patient discharge) queries in accordance with the urgency of the submission Promotes accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation by conducting regular evaluations of documentation in accordance with KMC's policy and procedure Maintains KMC's query system by running analytic assessments, evaluating efficiency, and identifying possible process improvements Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and accreditation/compliance requirements WHY JOIN OUR TEAM We have assembled a expert team of health care professions that are dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care.
